Letters, photographs, maps, press cuttings, chiefly of Simeon Lord's family, especially his son-in-law Dr. David Ramsay, and grandson, Capt. Henry Thomas Fox. Photos of the family home and estate at Dobroyd(e) (now Haberfield) and Ashfield, owned by Lord and Ramsay. Includes notice of establishment of Raine and Ramsay House of Agency which brought Ramsay to settle in Sydney in 1823. Contains some diaries of Capt. Fox's voyages 1865 and 1866.

Came to Australia in 1840. Commanded various ships until 1853 when he took up marine surveying at first on his own, then for the Australian General Assurance Company.
